Troop 176 Web Policy
Our policy is to provide as much information via our website as possible to ensure that our members our fully informed and visitors to our website get the information they need, while still protecting the privacy of our youth. Our website policy is as follows:
- We will not provide scout rosters via the web, unless protected by a user I.D. and password.
- Troop or patrol activity photographs may be published but scouts will not be identified with individual names. Additionally, a photograph will not be published (or will be removed from the website) if any the scout or his parent/guardian included in the photograph objects to its publication. Written permission for publication of scout photos is kept on file by the Troop 176.
- Announcements, articles, etc. may only include a scout's first name or first name and last initial. Full names of scouts will not be published. With their permission, full names of adults and e-mail addresses may be published as necessary for effective communication within the troop.
- Links to individual scout's web pages will not be allowed nor will references to scouts e-mail addresses.
- Our website may provide links to third-party websites for your convenience and information. If you access those links, you will leave the Troop 176 website. We do not control those third-party sites or their privacy practices, which may differ from ours. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites. The personal data you choose to give to unrelated third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy.
